Matchmaking queue freeze after region switch
A player reported that after switching regions from Europe to North America mid-queue, the matchmaking panel froze indefinitely. The "Cancel Search" button became unresponsive and the player had to force-close the app. Steps to reproduce: 1. Queue for a solo match in Europe region 2. While the queue timer is running, open Settings → Region and switch to North America 3. Return to the lobby — the queue panel is frozen with a spinning indicator 4. Tapping "Cancel Search" produces no response Expected behavior: Switching regions should cancel the active queue and restart matchmaking in the new region. Observed on: Android 14, app version 2.8.1 (build 412). Network: Wi-Fi, 50 Mbps.
Resolution History

Reproduced the freeze on Android 14 (Pixel 7). Investigating the region-switch handler in MatchmakingService. Suspect a missing cancellation call on the pending queue request.
Root cause identified: regionChange handler in MatchmakingViewModel does not call cancelMatchmaking() before re-initializing the queue. Fix is a one-line addition. Assigned to sprint 24 patch.
