I am developing a heavily modded Minecraft Java Forge 1.19.2 multiplayer survival/RPG server centered around Greek mythology. Your role is to act as a GAMEPLAY PROTOTYPING AND DESIGN TEAM for this project. Do NOT attempt to recreate Minecraft or build the entire server. Instead, design and prototype advanced gameplay systems that can later be recreated inside Minecraft using Forge Java mods, KubeJS, Blockbench, GeckoLib, custom entities, particles, sounds, commands, NPC systems, WorldEdit/Axiom, and datapacks. Always consider whether a mechanic could realistically be recreated in modded Minecraft. CORE CONCEPT Players begin as ordinary mortals randomly scattered throughout a dangerous Greek mythology-inspired world. They are not assigned teams. They must survive, explore, discover other players, form alliances or rivalries, interact with cities, hunt relics, fight mythological creatures, and gradually create their own stories. Players should NOT automatically know where other players are or what is happening elsewhere. Progression should be slow and long-term. Players begin vulnerable. Legendary heroes, divine champions, demigod-level power, Titans, and fighting gods belong to the late/endgame. Focus on survival, exploration, discovery, Greek mythology, difficult combat, player freedom, roleplay, emergent stories, divine intervention, and world-changing consequences. CUSTOM BOSSES Design cinematic action-RPG-style bosses that remain feasible in Minecraft. Bosses can include: * Charon * Medusa * Cerberus * Hydra * Nemean Lion * Arachne * Polyphemus * Scylla * Charybdis * Legendary heroes * Titans * Eventually Greek gods Boss designs should use: * Multiple phases * Telegraphable attacks * Dodge opportunities * Unique movement * Environmental attacks * Summons * Arena mechanics * Cinematic introductions * Death sequences * Unique loot * Mythologically appropriate abilities * Consequences for defeating important characters Named legendary beings are generally unique. Multiple Gorgons may exist, but only one Medusa exists. CHARON Charon should be one of the first major prototypes. He is an intimidating supernatural Ferryman of the Dead wielding a weapon combining a large oar and scythe. Potential abilities: * Huge circular scythe sweeps * Cleaves * Ground shockwaves * Cursed coin projectiles * Delayed coin explosions * Soul projectiles * Pulling players toward him * Summoning shades * Teleporting through darkness * Using the River Styx during combat * Summoning his ferry * Changing the arena between phases Create roughly three phases. Defeating Charon should have consequences because he performs an important function in the Underworld. DIVINE INTERACTIONS The server administrator may roleplay as different Greek gods. Prototype dramatic god abilities and entrances. ZEUS: Lightning, thunderstorms, eagles, divine announcements, teleportation through lightning, punishment. HADES: Darkness, souls, curses, shades, death manipulation, Underworld teleportation. POSEIDON: Water manipulation, storms, flooding, waves, earthquakes, sea creatures. ATHENA: Visions, strategic trials, owls, protection, wisdom and punishment for crimes against protected cities. Create equally thematic abilities for other gods. HADES ABDUCTION Prototype this cinematic interaction: A targeted player’s surroundings become unnaturally quiet. Darkness forms beneath them and becomes a black abyss. Massive skeletal arms emerge, grab the player, and drag them underground. Their vision goes dark and they are transported to Hades. After Hades finishes speaking with them, another abyss opens. Giant skeletal hands carry the player upward, place them back into the mortal world, and disappear as the abyss closes. Design this with eventual Minecraft implementation through custom entities, Blockbench/GeckoLib animations, particles, sounds, camera effects, teleportation, and scripting in mind. CHARON’S FERRY Prototype an interaction where supernatural fog appears and Charon arrives aboard his ferry. The player can be forced or invited aboard. Charon transports them through the River Styx before delivering them to Hades or another Underworld location. This can function as both a cinematic sequence and gameplay mechanic. VISIONS & CUTSCENES Design cinematic camera sequences for: * Olympus meetings * Prophecies * God appearances * Titan omens * Visions of distant places * Boss introductions * City destruction * Divine warnings * Relic discoveries Players temporarily view predetermined camera positions before control returns. LEGENDARY WEAPONS & RELICS Weapons can develop history and eventually become legendary. Possible progression: Mortal Weapon → Proven Weapon → Heroic Weapon → Legendary Weapon → Divine Relic Progress can depend on: * Enemies defeated * Named monsters defeated * Underworld survival * Battles * Weapon age * Repairs * Rare materials * God blessings * Important player actions Weapons should develop identities and unique abilities rather than simply receiving larger damage numbers. MYTHOLOGICAL CREATURES Improve Greek monster behavior. Examples: * Sirens lure players. * Cyclopes throw rocks. * Minotaurs charge. * Harpies dive and grab. * Gorgons partially petrify victims. * Furies hunt marked players. * Shades use supernatural attacks. Creatures should feel recognizable and different from ordinary Minecraft mobs. UNDERWORLD Death sends players into a huge Underworld rather than simply respawning normally. Possible regions: * River Styx Banks * Asphodel Fields * Mourning Caves * Bone Forest * Charon’s Roads * Judges’ Hollow * Cerberus Gate * Palace Outskirts * Dead Market Major landmarks can remain fixed while dangerous dungeon regions may be procedurally generated. Players should feel lost and vulnerable. Escaping should be difficult but possible. Repeated deaths may increase “death debt,” causing Hades and Underworld creatures to react differently. DIVINE TRIALS Design non-combat and combat trials themed around gods. Zeus: judgment, storms, leadership. Athena: strategy, puzzles, defense. Ares: warfare and courage. Artemis: hunting and wilderness. Poseidon: sea survival. Hades: death, sacrifice and endurance. Hermes: speed, travel, trade and deception. Apollo: prophecy, archery, healing and music. Hephaestus: forging and crafting. DISASTERS Prototype: * Tornadoes * Tsunamis * Earthquakes * Floods * Wildfires * Extreme storms * Divine lightning storms * Underworld breaches Some occur naturally while others result from divine anger or major events. They should create gameplay situations rather than randomly destroying everything. NPC WARS Prototype battles between Greek city-states using hoplites, archers, cavalry, commanders, monsters, defenses, and siege attacks. Players can join a side, remain neutral, sabotage factions, supply armies, rescue civilians, or exploit the conflict. Use waves or optimized groups rather than hundreds of entities simultaneously so the system remains practical for Minecraft multiplayer. TITANS Titans are extremely late-game server-wide threats. Potential encounters include Kronos, Oceanus, Hyperion, Atlas, Iapetus, and Prometheus. Their abilities should dramatically affect the environment. Examples: Kronos manipulates time. Atlas manipulates gravity and earth. Oceanus creates enormous waves. Hyperion uses devastating solar/fire attacks. GOD BOSS FIGHTS Gods are NOT ordinary bosses. Fighting one should require legendary equipment, relics, major accomplishments, and extraordinary circumstances. God encounters should include multiple phases, arena transformations, divine powers, cinematic transitions, and enormous consequences. Examples: Poseidon dies → oceans become unstable. Hades dies → dead souls begin escaping. Zeus dies → weather and Olympus destabilize. Athena dies → Athens loses divine protection. DESIGN RULES Always prioritize: FUN over unnecessary complexity. DIFFICULTY over unfairness. TELEGRAPHED attacks over unavoidable damage. GREEK MYTHOLOGY over generic fantasy. PLAYER CHOICE over forced outcomes. LONG-TERM PROGRESSION over rapid power gain. WORLD CONSEQUENCES over meaningless boss kills. MINECRAFT FEASIBILITY over mechanics requiring an entirely different game. When creating a prototype, explain how its mechanics could later be recreated using Minecraft Forge 1.19.2, Java, KubeJS, Blockbench, GeckoLib, particles, sounds, commands, custom entities, or datapacks. Do NOT attempt every system at once. FIRST TASK: Create a complete prototype for CHARON, FERRYMAN OF THE DEAD. Design his appearance, weapon, River Styx arena, cinematic introduction, attacks, movement, approximately three combat phases, animations, audio cues, environmental mechanics, defeat sequence, rewards, and world consequences of killing him. After designing the encounter, explain how each major mechanic could eventually be recreated inside Minecraft Forge 1.19.2.
