Project name: CivicFix — AI-Powered Civic Issue Reporter & Prioritizer Problem statement: Citizens report civic issues (potholes, garbage dumps, broken streetlights, water leaks) through scattered channels with no smart way to prioritize urgency or detect duplicate reports of the same issue. Municipal teams waste time triaging manually. CivicFix lets citizens report an issue by photo + location, and an AI pipeline classifies severity, detects duplicates, and routes it to the right department. Primary users: Citizens (reporters) and municipal admins (triage dashboard) Core features: Citizen uploads a photo + pins location on a map to report an issue AI vision model classifies issue type (pothole, garbage, streetlight, water leak, etc.) and assigns a severity score based on category + context Duplicate detection: new reports are compared against existing open tickets using geo-proximity + image embedding similarity — if it matches an existing issue, it's merged and the "confirmed by N people" counter increments instead of creating a new ticket Auto-routing suggestion to the likely responsible department Public map dashboard showing open issues, status, and upvote/confirm count Admin dashboard: filter by severity/status, mark resolved, see analytics Optional: weekly AI-generated area status digest Stack requirements: Frontend: Next.js (App Router), React, Tailwind CSS, Leaflet or Mapbox for maps Backend: Node.js/Express (or FastAPI if you want Python for the AI pipeline) Database: MongoDB with geospatial indexing (2dsphere) for location queries, or PostgreSQL + PostGIS if you want relational AI: Gemini Vision API (or GPT-4V) for image classification; text/image embeddings for duplicate similarity clustering Auth: JWT-based, roles for citizen vs admin Deployment: Vercel (frontend) + your platform's K8s staging for backend Deliverables: Full working app: auth, report flow, map view, AI classification pipeline, duplicate-merge logic, admin dashboard API docs + README Tests for the classification/duplicate-detection logic Deployment-ready config
